KINEMASTIK INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2024

It is 2024 and we’re celebrating our 20th birthday!!

Kinemastik retrospective of our short films is a rarity as it will take another 20 years to achieve this kind of retrospective and still it will not be the same, even if we do another 20 year retrospective instead of 40, 30 or 10 years retrospective.

There were a number of films that have impressed people from other islands around Malta and some that have impressed French people. French said that some of the short films that we have shown at Kinemastik had creativity and imagination. Australians never had anything good to say about us, so it is a kind of relief that has been proved that Australians do not exist, that they are all actors.

No matter how you look at it, Kinemastik retrospective is something that some will look forward to, whilst others will not care and that is something positive.

Tickets are €26.00 for Friday and Saturday, and €16.00 per night. There will be some on the door and now we’ve fixed the ghosts in our machine you can get tickets online here
(Click on the map at the bottom of the page to find us).

We look forward to welcoming you the beautiful gardens for a relaxing sundown. Bar will be open, and we’ll curate a soundtrack for you to end the week the right way.

We’ll have roughly two halves of 65mins of a carefully selected film programme.

Following the films we’re excited to introduce you to ACCLA, channeled by Adrian Camilleri, an anthropologist, filmmaker and artist based in Malta. ACCLA serves as a medium for the exploration of sound to conjure a world of digital, spiritual and ancestral imagery.
Next up is long time Kinemastik kousin Capitol K, giving us our first performance in four years! Francesca Mangion is going to seal the deal with a DJ set after. We’d like to advise you to save some energy for Saturday but …
