The first ever International Short Film Festival was a one-night affair! Kinemastik walked the bastions of Valletta and found the perfect location for projecting films under the stars - suddenly we were hosting an open air, non-competitive event. After a severely windy night that forced us to cancel the screening, the festival was held July 3rd, 2005. The first ever short film festival to be held in Malta featured a selection of locally produced short films and documentaries, as well as the works of several international artists, none had ever before been projected to a local public audience. It was a unique opportunity for filmmakers and audiences to gather, explore, express and enjoy the fringe of experimental cinema. This was the start of a beautiful responsibility!
