Kinemastik International Short Film Festival 2010

The Kinemastik International Short Film Festival took place on the 6th, 7th and 8th August 2010.

Kinemastik International Short Film Festival took place on the 6, 7 and 8 of August. The festival, held in outdoor venues every year, has become part of the local cultural calendar, bringing short films, both local and foreign, to the general public.

Our 6th edition kicked off with a screening of the finalists of European Academy Short Film winners selection that was held in association with Europa House at Is-Suq(market), Merchant Street, Valletta on the 6th August at 18:30h , followed by a rare performance by a guitarist of a legendary band, Faust, Uwe Bastiansen. This one off performance was held on the roof of City Lights Cinema, Republic Street, Valletta.

Three screens ran concurrently and offered the audience a variety of Maltese and influential short films. Our main screen presented the official selection for The Kinemastik s International Short Film Festival.

For the first time, our programme included a workshop of film making for children(age 3-7) which was followed by the screening of children films.

This pioneer activity was organized with the help of Animateka, Slovenia and St James Cavalier, Valletta.

Saturday night also featured a dj set from Richard Fearless (Death in Vegas), Ali Tollervey and Danjeli.
